Date and Time: Sunday, October 20, 2024, 1:30pm-3:30pm
Venue: Aoba Ward Community Center, 5th Conference Room
Organizer: Yokohama City Aoba International Lounge
Guest Speaker: Takahashi Motoharu (Professor at Toyo Eiwa University)
This is a lecture by English teaching expert Takahashi, which has been very well received every time.
In addition to serving as a UN English Test advisor and special A-class interviewer, he is also active in many areas as an English narrator.
This lecture was divided into three parts. First, he took up English words written in Katakana and taught pronunciation that Japanese people tend to get wrong. The lecture was participatory, with attendees pairing up and practicing correct pronunciation out loud. After a break, in the second part, he taught us the differences in nuance that can be expressed depending on the tense, using examples from YouTube videos. The third part was a question time. There were many questions from the participants.
The lecture was easy to understand, using a variety of materials including videos, whiteboard notes, and handouts.
There were 31 participants, including staff.
