The Japanese Wednesday Class held an origami exchange event on February 26th. The volunteer teachers who usually teach Japanese became origami teachers on this day.
The 14 teachers taught one type of origami each. Students chose their favorite origami and folded under the guidance of their teachers. They made a windmill, a crane, Western clothes, a frog, a crab, a whale, a boat, an airplane, a beetle, a box, the Hundred Faces game, a police car, sumo, and a dumpling. By learning from all the teachers, the students will have learned 14 different types of origami. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time and couldn't make everything.
But students were able to talk face to face with the volunteer teachers, who we usually only know by face.
We also got to learn about the Japanese origami culture enjoyable with just one piece of paper. It was a meaningful exchange between the students and the volunteer teachers.
