On Wednesday, November 27th, the Japanese Wednesday Class Exchange Meeting took place at Sankeien Garden in Naka Ward, Yokohama.
The catchphrase for the event was "Enjoy orienteering while eating dango, drinking matcha, and admiring the colorful autumn leaves!"
We strolled through the garden, which was shining with the light of the autumn showers that had fallen the day before. Five guides gave us explanations in both Japanese and English. Thanks to that we were able to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
At the teahouse in the garden, we ate dango and tried matcha green tea. We all enjoyed Japanese food. We also enjoyed watching the leaves change color in the fall.
Inside the garden, we split into five groups and enjoyed group orienteering. We formed groups with people we don't normally talk to. Thanks to that, we were able to become friends with people we only knew by face.
It was a fulfilling half day.
