Yokohama Aoba International Lounge is the station operated by many volunteers for promoting International relations and mutual understanding . We are looking for the following volunteers for various purposes and kinds of the work, and for different working time.
Volunteers for 3 divisions in the Lounge (Division member)
There are three specialized divisions. They are project planning division, information/ publicity division and Japanese language division.
Each division is working for its own purpose and any one is accepted as a member. The term of work is one year. Registration is accepted in March every year.
The purpose of this volunteer activity is to support residents from abroad when they have difficulty in daily life. The support works are interpretation and translation. English, Chinese, Hangul, Spanish, Portuguese and any other language skills are wanted.Please register to the language in which you can support others.
Registration is accepted anytime.
In the events at Yokohama Aoba International Lounge, we provide childcare service depending on the necessity.
This is for the participants during the events, such as the students of the Japanese Language classes and participants of various lectures and training sessions.
When necessary, budget for this volunteer activity is prepared by each division.
This is the volunteer work which needs special skill. Registration is accepted to several categories of skills, such as introducing foreign culture, performing special skill, supporting events by making posters and site management, and helping computer works.
Spot volunteers work limited term on the spot, whereas volunteers of divisions are expected to work throughout the year. Registration is always accepted
Volunteers to help elementary school children from abroad studying in a supplementary class.
Volunteers are expected to support children from abroad to study Japanese and school subjects individually, such as helping children to do their homework and giving them a chance to relax and to open their heart. All activities are in Japanese. You don't need to speak any foreign language.
